How the Desk builds a Selection.
Bean Voyage is a research desk that sells its research. This page is the part you should read before you spend €9, because it is the part that tells you what you are and are not buying.
Choose one origin
A zone, a woreda, sometimes a single washing station. One a month, and no more, because a Selection is only as good as the reading behind it.
Read the roasters, not the resellers
We work from roasters' own product pages. A price on a marketplace or in a search snippet does not count. If we could not open the roaster's page, the lot does not go in.
Record what the page actually says
Producer, station, variety, process, altitude, harvest, price, weight, and the roaster's own tasting notes, quoted. Where a roaster does not publish a figure, the Selection says "not stated on the roaster's page" rather than filling the gap.
Check the shelf, and date the check
A lot only ships in a Selection if its add-to-cart was live when we looked. Every entry carries the date we looked, in the form: in stock, verified 22 August 2026.
Choose five, and say why
We pick for spread as well as quality — different processes, different continents, different prices — and every Lot carries a line saying what it is doing in the Selection. Including, sometimes, that it is the least documented bag in the list.
Re-check, and correct in the open
Origins recur and shelves empty. When a lot sells out after publication the entry reads "Sold out, verified" with the new date and a sourced substitute beneath it. We do not quietly delete a Lot that stopped being true.
What we are, plainly
Research at the Desk is AI-assisted. Every factual claim is sourced, and we never claim to have tasted a coffee ourselves.
The Desk has no palate and does not pretend to one. There is no cupping table here. What we can do, and what a quarterly magazine cannot, is read a large number of roaster pages every month and write down what is verifiably good and verifiably in stock. Where a cupping score appears in a Selection it carries its source and year, and if the only source is the roaster’s own score, the entry says so.
We do not sell coffee, and roasters do not pay us.
No inventory, no affiliate links, no paid placement, no commission. We earn nothing when you buy a bag, which is why we can send you to a roaster in Riga rather than the one who would pay for the slot. Bean Voyage ships nothing: every bag is bought on the roaster’s own site, on their terms.
Every Voyage, past and future, while the Bean Voyage service remains active. If we ever stop publishing, you keep downloadable copies of the Voyages you bought.
That is what the Passport is. There is no recurring charge and no renewal: three prices, each paid once — Voyage €9, Passport €39, Passport upgrade €30 if you already bought a Voyage and want the rest. Every Voyage you own has a download link on your Passport page, and that file is yours whatever happens to us.
Refunds on request within 14 days, no questions.
Write to hello@nanocorp.app or reply to any email from us. We refund the amount, remove access to the Voyages you bought, and send one closing email with the amount and the date it lands. There is no win-back sequence.
Where we can be wrong.
A roaster can sell out an hour after we look. A roaster can publish an altitude we cannot independently confirm. A roaster’s own page can contradict itself — we found one this month that names two different regions in two places, and we left that lot out rather than pick a side. When our figure and the roaster’s current page disagree, theirs is right and ours is stale. Tell us and we date the correction.
